Tracking Customer Data in a Couple of Simple Steps
Install the Live Chat
It is important to note that in order to track visitor/customer data, you must install the live chat to your website. To learn more about how you can install the live chat, please visit this article.
If you install the live chat for visitors, you'll be able to track basic information, such as contact visits. If you install the live chat + CRM option, you'll be able to match customer data with the actions, and know much more about who your customers are and what they are doing.
Hide the Live Chat Launcher
We understand that you might not want to have a live chat on your website for your customer support, but you still want to collect information on your customers. The solution for this is hiding the live cat widget from your website.
In your Inbox Settings, go to the Chat Style and find the option for the Launcher visibility. Turn it off with the toggle for both mobile/tablet and desktop. This makes the widget of the Live Chat hidden on your website, but the scrip will still enable you to track data. For further details on how you can hide your launcher, please visit this article.
Enable Customer Tracking
Now all you have to do is enable data tracking. Go to your Workspace settings, select the Tracking option, and activate the Contact tracking option. With this, you’ll be able to collect data on your customers which you can later turn into valuable reports and analytics.
