How to train Milly?

Milly can only answer customer questions based on the knowledge base you teach her. To train Milly, you need to follow these steps:


1. In the Setup Milly section, provide Milly with all the information based on what she is supposed to answer questions.

  1. The recommended way is to write at least 50 articles in your Knowledge Base and turn Knowledge Base on in Setup Milly
  2. You can also enter an external website URL or domain name, and Milly will crawl those pages and extract information from them. You can do this by clicking on the "+ Add another website" or "+ Add another sitemap" buttons in Setup Milly
  3. If you have new information on your website, or an updated version, you can always click on "Re-Crawl" and Milly will crawl the content of your website and learn it again for the upgraded version. 
  4. You can also set up Exceptions at the bottom of the page. Here, you can add the URLs that you want Milly to handle as exceptions and not learn for its answers. It can be, for example, a blog part of your website, or any other information that you want to exclude from Milly's Library. 



2. Before you activate Milly for your live chat, trying out Milly's answers to the questions is extremely important. You can do that in the "Milly" menu point under "Train Milly". 

  1. Enter a common customer question.
  2. Milly will answer your question.
  3. If you are satisfied with Milly's answer, you can move on to the next question. 



Milly works from the database you enter in the Setup Milly section. All the snippets Milly can work from can be found in the Library



How to improve Milly's answers 

If you are not satisfied with Milly's answers, you can train it further. 


On the right, you can see the most relevant snippets we found for answering the question. The green frame shows the snippet that Milly based on its answer. 

  1. By clicking "Edit," you can modify or rewrite the snippet or help article to ensure it contains the information needed to answer the entered question. 
  2. If the information was crawled from an external website, you could re-crawl it. 
  3. After editing the snippet or article, we automatically ask the question again to see Milly's updated answer. 


How can I activate Milly?

Activating Milly is simple and straightforward. First, ensure that Milly has access to at least 50 pages of information from either your Knowledge Base or website crawl. Then, use the Train Milly section to test and fine-tune her responses. Once you are satisfied with the results, activate Milly by clicking the toggle on the Setup Milly page.
